Little Melbourne Reviews
Here at Little Melbourne HQ we can't forget our Melbourne roots! The Novotel has always been a great choice for Mum and Dad's R & R but who knew they were so kid-friendly? If you're wondering where to head for a City Stay-cation, Novotel has families covered in the heart of St Kilda.
Combine the lure of the beach and a visit to the iconic Luna Park Melbourne with a mini break just a short tram ride from Melbourne's CBD.
The Family&Novotel promise is available at Novotel hotels worldwide and includes a range of family-friendly benefits where kids are treated as valued guests in their own right. On arrival children are welcomed with a gift, can enjoy a dedicated play area and free breakfast (under the age of 16).
Families can take advantage of Novotel’s spacious rooms which can comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Two children up to age 16 stay free when sharing their parents’ or grandparents’ room. If more space or adult privacy is required, a second room for children can be booked at 50% off the best unrestricted rate.*
One of the major benefits of a family stay at Novotel is the 5pm late check out on Sundays. The opportunity to enjoy a sleep in, more time over breakfast and lunch so you're not rushing or lounge longer by the pool allows families to enjoy a full weekend of activities at their destination.
Family&Novotel is a perfect option for Australian families seeking a ‘stay-cation’ for when it’s not always possible logistically or financially to take the family away on holiday.
Novotel Australia’s Group Brand Manager Kellie Smith (and mother of two) explains. “Hotel stay-cations are becoming an increasingly popular ‘holiday at home’ option for families,” she says, “Whether its school holidays or a weekend, kids adore going to a hotel. And so do parents.”
What we loved about the Novotel St Kilda upon entering was a kids area set up in one corner of the reception while we checked-in the kids were able to play safely.
Our family room in the hotel was with a view, spacious (plenty of room for our family of five to spread out) and clean and had a portacot already set up. The kids loved their welcome packs waiting for them too. If it had of been the right time of year, i'm sure we would have made use of the swimming pool too!
For our evening meal and breakfast we ate the hotel's own Restaurant; Grill 3182 - a family-friendly restaurant with lots of options and a kids menu and it's positioned so you can see the beach. What a view!

I don't think any visit to St Kilda is complete if you haven't been on a ride or two at Luna Park or walked on the pier to catch the sunset with a gelato in hand.
So pack up the bags, it's time to treat the family and take the challenge and enjoy what St Kilda offers or any other Novotel in Victoria for a stay-cation.
