To market....To market....
We've never seen so many markets popping up. From your organic farm fresh produce market (think Gasworks or the St. Kilda Farmers market), your local School Fete and your once a month Book Fair to the delightful Children's markets selling handmade gorgeous-ness (Magnolia Square, Mathilda's, Sugar & Spice Market, Fairy Floss etc).
They're a great way to spend a leisurely weekend, browsing, buying, eating some yummy food, drinking coffee and hanging out with family and friends.
From twilight on Thursday 10th January, our surrounding streets will buzz with a feast of street food, market stalls and free entertainment and music, every Thursday for eight weeks until 28th February.
To provide more space for people to relax, eat, drink and soak up the Night Market atmosphere, this year will be bigger and better than ever with the Market’s Centre Aisle and many permanent stalls opening for the first time during the evenings. Settle back and get into some tunes as there will be four stages of free live music – Cecil St, Coventry St, York St and SO:ME Space every thursday evening.
Bring your kids and your dog, you're going to market! Gasworks Farmers’ Market is plastic bag free, so BYO baskets, carrybags or trolleys and re-use your old plastic bags.
The Market is on rain, hail or shine and a good place to buy your Sunday roast produce! Stallholders have a simple philosophy; that their goods are grown, made and known by those who sell them and that the quality of produce is of the utmost importance.
