Little Melbourne Reviews
Everyday Mums, Dads, Kids and Families kid-test some of Melbourne's best, quirky, upbeat and favourite destinations with some product and book reviews thrown into the mix.
Fairy Park Anakie is a one hour drive from Melbourne or 25 minutes from Geelong. Set on a rock formation at the top of a hill and featuring 22 animated fairytale scenes set in beautiful manicured gardens you get the impression the park is a real labour of love.
Entry is via payment from your car about halfway up a hill after you enter the Fairy Park. Confused? It's easy once you enter the front gates.
For something a little off the beaten track these holidays head to the Shrine of Remembrance to take a trail of history.
Start off with a map and pencil available from the Visitor's Centre then let your kids lead you and explore the grounds. This activity suits ages 6+ but our 4 year old happily played along as the promise of an ANZAC biscuit loomed.
THE PENINSULA FAMILY EASTER PICNIC,
Mornington Racecourse, Sunday 13th April 2014.
I’m going to let my 9yo introduce this review with the mantra “I’m so happy, I’m so happy, I’m so happy’...because that’s what I got when he bounded out of the easter egg hunt zone, his bucket brimming with eggs and his grin broad!
