Little Melbourne Reviews
Everyday Mums, Dads, Kids and Families kid-test some of Melbourne's best, quirky, upbeat and favourite destinations with some product and book reviews thrown into the mix.
Today we got our warm winter gear on, donned our brollies and jackets in anticipation of excessive precipitation. Our destination? The Alexander Theatre at Monash, Clayton to witness The Gruffalo's Child, live on stage. Antonio 7, Frankie 5, Dante 4, were all anxious to see this book come to life.
We were charmed by The Gruffalo's Child. The show was simply wonderful. The delightful rhyming prose; the simple, changeable sets; the catchy musical refrains, all culminated to make a magnificent one hour show. There was great humour for the kids, and they got to join in the show, shouting catchphrases from the classic book, clapping and doing different actions along with the cast.
Melbourne parent bloggers have captured our attention with mag-worthy stories on the highs and lows of raising kids. Unlike long-winded features on Justin Bieber’s new tattoo or Labor infighting, parent bloggers write stories that fellow kid wranglers can relate to.
We’d like to introduce you to a few of our favourite bloggers. We even had them hand pick their top posts for time pressed parents looking for a good read. And if this crop of writers inspires you to start your own blog, check out Digital Parents’ upcoming blogging conference for tips.
HANG IN THERE
Take a load off, here's something you'll embrace with open arms.
The Baby K'Tan Breeze is a simple to use sling that merges fun, form, and function.
The design keeps you and your cargo comfy for hours. How? The double sling design rests on both shoulders instead of pressing on his spine (like most sling designs do), there is no wrapping involved - it's a cinch to get on and off, you can discreetly nurse your bambino on the go, it's 50% light mesh and 50% soft cotton (perfect for our Summer days ahead) with cross stretch soft knit fabric which reduces heat and moisture. Meanwhile, the double loops provide extra security for baby. The upshot: extra safe for them, ache-free for you.
