Shopping and Kids. Kids and Shopping. Whoever said it can't be done? Enter the 4th floor of the newly fitted Myer MYKIDS Emporium and you'll soon discover that shopping with kids can be achieved as they've taken the strain away from the pain.

While you look/browse/shop/make decisions and purchase, the kids will be off in a flash and quick as lightning discovering the little hubs of play in every nook of the toy department.

Watch Barbie and her friends at the Barbie Boutique (you can't miss the big shoe), test drive a mini car at the Little Tikes Driving Track, play with the trains and track and pretend to drive a train at the Thomas the Tank Engine Train Station and get busy making DUPLO masterpieces at the LEGO concept area - 'the highest selling LEGO outlet in the Southern Hemisphere'.

For LEGO fans, the concept area is an extended version of the old Myer LEGO offering. It now features a back wall of LEGO Friends and City. One of the very special features (or WOW factors from the little guy) are the presense of LEGO brick minifigures that were taller than our 4 year old and built by Australia's own LEGO professional Ryan McNaught - aka The Brick Man. There's also some very cool Melbourne landmarks such as Flinders Street Station and Luna Park Melbourne.

If you've got an action hero fan like we do, they'll marvel at the Transformers, Star Wars and Marvel Heros area. Our Little Man went home with a Transformer...naturally.

Lots of our favourite brands are featured at MYKIDS Emporium - Crayola, Seedling, Ty Plush, Sylvanian Families, Transformers and so many more.

Apart from Toys, the new space also accomodates custom-fit concept areas from Bonds Baby, Bardot Girls, Mossimo and Baker by Ted Baker.

Further fashion brands for little and big kids include Peter Alexander, Milkshake, Sprout, Jack & Milly, Tilii, Bauhaus, Origami and Brooklyn Industries.

The layout of the department is grouped by age and gender, ranging from newborn and toddlers, to girls and boys (aged 3 to 8) and bigger kids (aged 8 to 16).

Next time you're after a shopping experience rather than a mad dash, head to Myer MYKIDS Emporium for a visit and make a day of it in the City.

The space is large enough to fit a pram and a double pram as the aisles are pretty roomy. Its clean line modernist approach will appeal to everyone and there's a Parent Room on Level 3 of the Emporium. If you're needing an after shopping coffee, rest and lunch, Brunetti is on Level 3 of Myer or the Emporium is full of great cafes and venues for nibbles.

Myer will also be hosting toy demonstrations and activity days throughout the year and on the weekend of the 14th June The Wiggles will appear live for a performance and the weekend activities will co-inside with the launch of the new Myer Midyear Toy Sale. Hooray!
