Our Top Five foodie joints are quick, easy and kid-friendly for when you need a little bit of sustenance to keep you (and the kiddos) going.

We've always found Pizza joints the easiest to dine-out at as everyone loves a slice or two/three/four of pizza and you don't spend ages waiting on the food.

La Porchetta Elwood

This used to be a kid-friendly cafe until La Porchetta took over the reigns. It's got a fully fenced rad playground (we've often eaten our take-away pizza in the wooden rotunda) or you can dine indoors and see the beach by the windows. Service is quick, friendly and the bambino menu is spot on for youngsters. Colouring pencils and paper arrive at the table virtually as soon as you are seated and the promise of play after dinner is always an advantage. The pizzas are good and the price-point is even better!

Jimmi Jamz

One of our absolute favourites. We've spent many an evenings relaxing (yes, relaxing!) here in the courtyard. There's been a recent upgrade of the outdoor fenced play area and the pizzas are very more-ish.

Come in on Monday or Tuesday and in-house pizzas are only $6.00. How's that for a total bargain! There's no dedicated kids menu but our kids can happily munch down the same size pizza as us. There's also a couple of gluten free options. Pizza love from our family!

Mr. Wolf

Stylish and a little bit fancy sums up Mr. Wolf but it may surprise you that it's kid-friendly too. Between Five and Half Past Six O'Clock kids can down a pizza and ice-cream sundae for $10 and the bambini menu is also a colouring sheet. Highchairs are available. It's a great spot to hang out with another family. We've dined there on several occasions as they just make it ohh so easy plus there is no washing up! Got to love that.

9 - 15 Inkerman Street, St Kilda

Motorino has been going strong in the West for sometime now and it's been serving up in Elsternwick since the end of March. There's a big range of pizzas and dessert pizzas on offer here and they're good...really good! They also open at the family-friendly time of 5pm. There's a bambino menu and smaller serves of pizza and pasta (but they're pretty big servings too) and they'll go crazy for the waffles too. Vegan, Vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

For the little ones they have a huge blackboard and staff bring dough so you can make a pretend pizza. This is one pizza joint that's got it right.

Modern, busy and fresh staff sums up Ladro. The pizzas are perfection - very good, authentic, Italian style pizzas with thin crusts and fresh ingredients. Ladro has a junior menu with 2 courses for $12.50. Pizza or Pasta? Bomboloni or Ice-Cream?

They also offer Junior Pizza Making Classes on the first Saturday of the month.
