Grabbing a quick coffee is all very well when there’s just you to think of, but when you’ve got a host of tots, a stroller and a bagful of nappies, a simple coffee gets a little complicated.

Little Kitchen pretty much serves as the dictionary definition of a ‘hidden coffee spot’ in a residential street of all the places and is home to the Melbourne Cookie Co.

Open the white doors to a sit down eatery area with a few toys on a bookshelf, highchairs and a little space to manoever a pram but head out back if it's space (and much bigger toys) you're after.

The long narrow area out the back is the perfect toddler haven with plastic cubby houses, a mini slide, little tykes cars, a blackboard and table and bench seats and it's partly shaded.

Little Kitchen on Lilian is a mama/papa-lovin’, family-friendly pit stop and perfect if you're en-route to the HEIDE Museum. There's also a playground to explore at the back of the courtyard.

They also offer high teas, children's parties and school holiday activities.
