Farms & Zoos Kids Activities Melbourne
Melbourne offers so much choice if you want to visit the animals.
From the Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary in its natural surroundings, pony rides in the Catani Gardens or the Collingwood Children's Farm, you're never far from something cuddly (or not so cuddly!).
Simply strolling through the Melbourne Zoo is an adventure all its own. Lions, tigers & bears as well as plenty other amazing creatures strut their stuff for visitors. While adults may love strolling through, simply taking in the scenery and animals, children often need a little something extra to make the trek truly special. To help children learn more about animals and conservation, create a game while visiting the zoo.
Hey kids, get to work and discover the new Works play space at Keeper Kids!
In Melbourne Zoo's newest indoor play-based experience, you can put on a safety vest and tool belt and learn the tools of the trades that are used every day by Keepers, Veterinarians, Horticulturists, Researchers and Works crew.
Designed for children aged 3 to 8 years and their families, this interactive experience enables kids to imagine what it's like to work at the Zoo by dressing up and taking on staff roles.
These school holidays Werribee Open Range Zoo will take kids on a journey through the African savannah with an exciting new indoor play space called Ranger Kids.
Within the new space, kids can become a wildlife ranger or a vet and explore life in an African village with a range of fun dress-ups and props to play with. Once those budding rangers and vets have finished caring for their animal charges, it’s time to head outside on the Zoo’s famous Safari Tour where they’ll see mixed herds of rhinos, giraffe, zebras and ostrich.
