Museums and Galleries Kids Activities Melbourne
This museum is situated in an old plumbing station and is simply brilliant. It is dynamic and interactive and a must for children who are inquisitive especially in matters relating to science and technology.
The museum collection objects are combined with hands-on exhibits so you can test your reflexes, jumping and kicking abilities and are designed to be explored. Amazingly the exhibits continuously changes so repeat visits never get repetitive.
The Planetarium is particularly fabulous and without fail our daughter always protests when it is time to leave!
Scienceworks makes learning about science and technology a fun, interactive adventure.
Located in Spotswood, five kilometres from the Melbourne Central Business District, the museum presents science and technology in unexpected and involving ways.
Hands-on participation is positively encouraged and visitors can take part in live demonstrations, shows, guided tours and special activities. There is also a programme of changing exhibitions.
Scienceworks is a great place to challenge curious minds and keep active bodies busy.
The Melbourne Planetarium creates hyper-real, digital simulations of outer space in awe-inspiring astronomical shows. Sessions are information-rich and will take visitors to the stars and beyond.
To ensure free-flowing access for all visitors, prams and strollers are not permitted within the Planetarium and Lightning Room. A pram parking area is provided.
Or do as we do and bring the baby bjorn, easier all round!
