Parks & Playgrounds
Whenever we head to this playground, there's hardly a sole in sight! This little gem we call pirate ship park (it will be obvious once you arrive) and is set back from the road AND the beach making it a quiet spot for a bit of play and run around. That is, after you've done a bike ride down the coastal path or watched the parashooters land!
When the beach is calling, Dendy Street beach is our go-to to cool off and hang out at the iconic beach boxes.
The bathing boxes are steeped in history and offer a shady spot to put your towel down (obviously don't do this if someone's occupying their own bathing box)!
Big (huge) super slide alert at Harleston Park! If the kids aren't clambering all over the super slide, you can relax a little at the more gentler paced playground area a stone's throw away.
This play area is complete with towers and ramps, slides, climbers, poles, abacus, bridges, interactive bead frame, and small tunnels. There's also a see-saw, monkey bars, flying fox, two sets of swings including baby swings.
Ricketts Point makes a great day trip for beach-goers. So...you don't come here for beach 'perfection' as it's got a bit of litter (sadly) floating about but you do come here for the rock pools, beach walks and it also gets bonus points for never really being that crowded. You'll want to stay a while and dig in so the kids can enjoy a paddle and you can take in the serenity!
The Ron Barassi Snr Park is a great new park in the Docklands that offers a range of activities for all ages and seasons.
The park is the first recreation space to open at the Habour Town side of Docklands and includes a children’s playground, a large grassed area, BBQ facilities, a picnic area, and toilets, which makes it a perfect spot for a family day out.
