Parks & Playgrounds Kids Activities Melbourne
The Ron Barassi Snr Park is a great new park in the Docklands that offers a range of activities for all ages and seasons.
The park is the first recreation space to open at the Habour Town side of Docklands and includes a children’s playground, a large grassed area, BBQ facilities, a picnic area, and toilets, which makes it a perfect spot for a family day out.
The sand-based playground hosts a range of activities for children of all ages, with the key feature being two giant tube slides coming down from a wooden climbing structure. This is probably most suitable for ages 3+ (and younger children with adventurous parents!).
There is also a host of other activities including a smaller slide for younger children, a sand digger, pulleys, tunnels, climbing wall, and a giant ‘tyre’ swing. Children will love roaming around finding new things to do. For summer days, the playground also includes a fantastic water play section with a water pump, river, and fountains to cool off in.
The grassed area incorporates a full footy oval and soccer pitches with permanent goalposts that will appeal to older children and anyone who loves to run around or kick a ball.

- There is no shade as the trees have only just been planted - and no sunshades have been installed so bring a hat
- Bring a change of clothes for little ones – the water play is very tempting!
